what does this sentence mean?..can anyone analyze it for me?:

The hours of folly are measured by he clock; but of wisdom, no clock can measure.

It means that wisdom is timeless, and that time spent being wise is time used well. Folly, on the other hand, is time wasted and that time spent being stupid is time that could better be spent doing something of value.

Well, of course you left out the "t" in "by the clock". The phrase "hours of folly" refers to time foolishly spent. I think the first clause means that it is easy to judge mistakes and failures as wasted time. The "hours of wisdom" refers to time wisely spent. Determining whether a good experience is due to wisdom or luck is not so easy.

There's an old saying the classical Greeks liked, "call no man happy until he is dead". Successful people are invaribly wise in their own and others' eyes, until misfortune pays a visit.
