HAS ALREADY GONE

HI everybody I'm new in this forum so I hope I can find some help to clear my doubts....

My question is about the present perfect tense and the use of ALREADY. I would like to know if it's possible to use the structure HAS + ALREADY + GONE in a sentence like the following one:

She doesn’t want to come to the cinema with us because......she has already gone (to the cinema) this afternoon.

Yes. It's fine. It means before we suggested her going out she had seen the film.
I suppose in AmE such adverbs are mostly used with a simple past.

I would say "...has already been..."

I'd just say ...because she was already there/at the cinema this afternoon.

In AmE "gone" can be used instead of "been" in this case.


e.g. Have you ever been to France? (BrE)
e.g. Have you ever gone to France? (AmE)



AmE can be really confusing to people like me who grew up being taught BrE.

Is that so?! Quite confusing to me. I hadn't noticed it, but as bhaisahab pointed out, the correct form should be '...she's been there...', because gone suggests that she hasn't got back yet. Hope some Americans let us know if been is that common in AmE too.
