    Default Grammar books

    Dear teachers and friends

I would like to buy a grammar book that could help me with English, so, could you please name a few I should consider taking a look at?

    Many thanks

Actually I am looking for a grammar book for practice. I'm taking an English course (finally) and I've been taught a lot of things, so I'd like a backup book to reinforce the learning.

    Many thanks

What do you have in mind? Something with explanations followed by exercises or would just the exercises do?

    (1) Do you already know about a series of books entitled Grammar in Use by

    Raymond Murphy?

    (2) If you do not, be sure to check out his books. They just may be your cup of tea.

    (3) His books have:

    (a) Brief, to-the-point explanations.

    (b) Audio CDs.

    (c) Answers to the exercise questions.

I've just googles Grammar in Use and I found a site called firstload.com where you can download the book for free and use it for a fortnight. Might be worth trying. Don't know if it's a safe website; it just came up in Google.
