    Default which one is correct? Help me

    ___ twice, the postman refused to deliver our letters unless we chained our dog.
    A. Being bitten B. Bitten

    which one is correct? or both?

    i'm confused. is there anyone kind enough to help me out?

    please give the reason why you choose it.

    this is not my homework.
    I would choose B (bitten), and the key is B. but someone says A (being bitten) is also acceptable, as here "being" is omitted. they think in adverbial clause that expresses the cause, "being done" is equated with "done".

    in my opinion, "bitten" and "having been bitten" both are acceptable, instead of "being bitten".

    I agree with you. "Bitten" or "Having been bitten" are fine - I prefer the latter. "Being bitten" doesn't work for me.
