___ twice, the postman refused to deliver our letters unless we chained our dog.
A. Being bitten B. Bitten
which one is correct? or both?
i'm confused. is there anyone kind enough to help me out?
please give the reason why you choose it.
[QUOTE=bhaisahab; This looks like homework. Which would you choose?[/QUOTE]
this is not my homework.
I would choose B (bitten), and the key is B. but someone says A (being bitten) is also acceptable, as here "being" is omitted. they think in adverbial clause that expresses the cause, "being done" is equated with "done".
in my opinion, "bitten" and "having been bitten" both are acceptable, instead of "being bitten".
