Default roll one's eyes: What kind of emotion is this?

    Dear teachers:

I keep seeing the phrase "He rolled his eyes" in novels, but can not identify the kind of emotion intended by this phrase. Is it anger? or contempt? or other type of emotions?

    Would love to know. Thanks:)

This is a good start, and the links after it will no doubt cover other uses - to show contempt/annoyance/impatience/recognition of typical behaviour/...

Thank you, sirs. But since I'm not in an English-speaking country, it's still a bit difficult for me to picture the emotion (even AFTER I read the definition). Would somebody show me a picture of reccommend a video clip showing "roll one's eyes"?

    Many thanks.

Context is always important; labelling is rarely important.
