Please need sentence correction
Hi teachers,
Could you tell me which one is better please? Is there a better one?
a) I hope the meeting was fine.
b) I hope the meeting went fine.
Thanks in advance

* Not a teacher
Both are OK, but I would use well in the second one.
The meeting went well. - (this is what I would say)

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Of course an 'adverb'. It is modifying the verb 'went'.

Re: Please need sentence correction
Usually when someone asks if the meeting went well, they are asking if the meeting was smoothly run, productive or successful..
But people can say it was a fine meeting.(enjoyable)
