what a conference hall, canteen area is called in old days
I am writing a short fiction of old age and need suitable words for the following stuff - archaic. These words would be used heavily through out and hence nice to have multiple synonyms to use.
Meeting hall - where masters and students gather for an announcement or to distribute prizes
canteen service area - something like the space in a self serviced garden restaurant, between the kitchen and the stalls, where service guys/girls roam to refill the dishes
canteen space - the place in such restaurant people consume food. there would be tables, chairs
Thanks
Kris
