"once" - at one time; sometime in the past; previously
"Exorcism" - neither of your suggestions fit. Did you check the dictionary definition of the word?
A girl is thinking about his love affair which is ended recently. Her parents were separated as well.
"This love affair had once, like the other affairs before it, felt like the exorcism of the disappointment that so drearily coloured her life when her parents went their separate ways"
I do not understand 2 things:
1. Had once: what does it mean here? It that equal to 'passed'?
2. exorcism: It is "magic spell" or it is "burden"
Thanks!

Remember - correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing make posts much easier to read.
A better title for your thread, Quang Hai, would have been This love affair had once....
Thread titles should include all or part of the word/phrase being discussed. (Avoid phrases like "HELP!", "Urgent!", "translation please", "how do I say this", "I'm new" and similar expressions.)
