It depends on whether you wish to be complimentary or not. If the former, then you could use "witty", "humorous","funny", "comical", "droll", or even "jocular". If the latter, then "facetious", flippant", or "irreverent" could nail him.

If you have to use a derivative of 'jocose', the answer is 'jocular'.
