It gives them (students) a decent opportunity to bridge the gap between their graduation and finding a job.

Personally, I do not like the bold part of my sentence. I want to say that everything what I mentioned in my essay gives student a decent opportunity to bridge the gap between their graduation and the moment when they start to work. Is it clear?

What does "bridge the gap" mean in that context?

Unforutnately, I cannot explain it :-D I wanted to say sometihng like "connect".

After graduation people usually spend a decent amount of time to look for a job. Thus there's a kind of "gap" between your work and your graduation. However, there's a thing which can help to find a job more quickly. That's why "it bridges the gam between starting work and graduation". I guess I can write "it serves as a bridge between starting work and gradtuation".

OK. I was thinking that it might be about time (helping to find a job) or money (providing a temporary job).

Don't people start looking for employment before they graduate?

Some of them probably do but I imagine many wait until they're sure they've got their degree!

Actually, I do not think people start looking for a job when they do not have a degree in Russia, especially in Moscow. It's incredibly difficult to find a job even if you have a degree. :)
