This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

I remember once my brother brought his classmate home and treated him lunch. After the classmate left, my mother praised him for good looking. My brother said "But when I went to his home, his mother said I'm more handsome". I'd had a glimpse of my brother classmate. I think my brother didn't realise his classmate's mother saying that just out of politeness.

My brother said "But when I went to his home, his mother said I'm more handsome". I'd had a glimpse of my brother's classmate. I think my brother didn't realise his classmate's mother was saying that just out of politeness.

See above. I find "praised him for being good-looking" rather unnatural. It's not really the kind of thing we praise people for. We praise people for things they've done, not for simply having the good fortune to be attractive! I'd say "... my mother said she thought he was really good-looking".
