This is an entry from my diary. Please check it and correct any mistakes.

On Saturday morning, I woke up with a stomach ache. I guess it was because I drank some sour tea before I slept. It increased my stomach acid. I took a pill to see if it helped but It didn't help much, and I got worse after a while. I then took one more pill and ate some congee. It seemed better but I still didn't feel very well. I then thought about whether I should go to see a doctor or not. When I was thinking about it in my bed, I fell asleep. When I woke up, I completely recovered. Strange!

I think the tea didn't "increase your stomach acid", as if there was acid already there. Normally, the presence of food triggers the release of acid in the stomach for digestion purposes.
Tea is acidic by itself, as it contains tannic acid, which doesn't sit well in an empty, sensitive stomach.

I would say:

I took a pill to see if it would help.

And

When I woke up I felt much better.

:)

An antacid pill?
