Hello,
This is computer terminology.

Mark tasks with a red dot as URGENT.

URGENT is a keyword, the reason I capitalized it.
I would like to know, the way I wrote the statement, means that the red dot is applied to one task or more tasks, right? Or do I need to write?:

Mark tasks with red dots as URGENT.

But I think this means that one task has more than one red dot, which is not what I'm trying to express. This is what gets me confused.

This, to me, means that if a task has a red dot against it, you're supposed to mark it as urgent.

Do you perhaps mean "Mark tasks with a red dot to indicate that they are urgent"?

"Mark any task with a red dot as URGENT"

That again suggests that if a task has a red dot against it, it needs to be marked "Urgent".

I suspect the OP means it the other way round--that any task that's urgent needs to be marked with a red dot. Perhaps they’ll let us know.
