I am working as Research and Development officer in computer learning center.

I joined this forum because I want to improve my conversation skills and others english language skills.

In Malta we have 2 main political parties. Obviously 1 is in favour the other against.the EU, roughly half the ppl side with one party, the other half against. In the elections we had a 96% turnout with only a small difference between the 2 parties.

But at least the majority was in favour since i was one of those who agree that Malta should join the EU.

Malta is a small country with a population of about 360,000 people.

At least joining the EU i will be able to work and study abroad.

No, I’m not Maltese, and I’ve never been to Malta. But I do know a few phrases in Maltese – as I do a few phrases in just about any other language you mention, LOL! I’m interested in languages, you see. :wink:

Nice to know that Malta is joining the EU. I’m sure TDOL will have a lot to discuss with you over this. :lol:

In arab world we used to write the date starting with day then month.
So 1/5 means May 1st.

In British english, we do the same- day\month\year. Americans do it m\d\y

I think you meant to say: "In the Arab world we write the date with the day followed by the month. So 1/5 means May 1st."

The phrase "used to" means that you don't do it anymore. That is evidently not the case. BTW, in the USA we generally do it the other way around.
