1) For me, playing pool all day is unacceptable.
2) Playing pool all day is unacceptable for me.

3) To me, playing pool all day is unacceptable.
4) Playing pool all day is unacceptable to me.

Which mean:
a) I find it unacceptable that I should play pool all day.
which mean:
b) I find it unacceptable that anyone should play pool all day.
and which mean:
c) It is unacceptable that I should play pool all day. (some other people do not accept that I play pool all day.)

Gratefully,
Navi

I think your approach to discovering meaning is all wrong, Navi. You shouldn't make up your own sentences and then proceed to ask us what you mean.

The way into finding an answer to what I think you're asking is to identify the different uses of the phrases for me and to me. Typically, for me means something like 'in my opinion', especially when it's in a preposed position at the beginning of a sentence.

All four are correct and natural but without context, Navi, we cannot help you choose.
