Or "Press the button".

Also, you need to press the button before you want to get off the bus! If you press it when (at the same time) you want to get off, you'll have left it too late. Normally, we press the button when the bus is approaching the stop at which we want to alight. I normally press it just after the bus leaves the stop before the one I want.
