Skill vs. skills

"Writing skill and an eye for detail constitute my strengths."

For me only "skill" works here, but I cannot explain why. Can you? Or do you disagree?

Maybe he means basic literacy skill = he knows how to write.

I would actually interpret it as meaning "being good at writing."


I guess... In my experience, good writing involves more than one skill.

So would I- I would be more likely to interpret writing skills as basic literacy. However, given the nature of the claim, I think changing the wording might help things.
