Hi.

Are my sentences natural with "urgent"?

1) He says the matter is urgent.
2) She was urgent for the doctor to come.

1 is correct.
2 is completely wrong. Do you mean something like "She was desperate for the doctor to come", or "She was in urgent need of a doctor"?

According to my guess (because I see no Chinese meaning under "urgent"), I guess it's the first one. But I will write down these two sentences for future reference since they're very useful.

And:

- She needed the doctor urgently.
- She urgently needed the doctor.

You've misunderstood something, Silver. What's the first one?

emsr2d2 gave you two different ways to say what you were trying to say, and Charlie Bernstein two more.

No, but I was wrong because I expressed the idea incorrectly.

I wanted to say that for the second sentences, Ems gave two alternatives. I think the original sentence meant the first meaning given by ems. :)
