You can practice poetry by posting things in the couplets thread. (Brief poems. Bite-sized poetry.)

You might find that it's a good mental exercise. (It's hard to come up with new things all the time. That makes it a challenge. The other challenge is creating an entertaining rhyme that scans well.

It is, I think, a good way to practice saying something with just a few words.

Thank you for the lead. I’ve never practiced poetry, is there basics rules, or how to, or different type of poems?

You mentioned writing poems. (Do I remember that right?) That's what gave me the idea. Start anywhere.

Different types of poems are formatted differently. The simplest is the couplet (two lines that rhyme). A quatrain is four lines. The rhyme scheme is AABB.

If you google "types of poems" you can probably find a list of them.

There are even poems like hoku, I'm not sure there are any fans of Japanese culture here. But it looks easy. lol

Hello @JohnBig and welcome to the forum. We don't use or permit "lol" or any other chatlish here. Standard English only, please. Secondly, the Japanese poetry form is usually transliterated into English as haiku, although hoku may be as close or closer to the Japanese pronunciation for all I know.

Welcome to the forum, BartholemyAyling.

Unfortunately, I don't understand what you are asking, and you have posted in the wrong forum anyway, as your question appears to have nothing to do with the original question.

Please repost your first question only in the Ask a Teacher forum, making it clear what you want to know.
