[Essay] thesis help

is this a good thesis statement:
The misuse and abuse of drugs is a temporary solution to a permanent problem, consequently Dick suggests that drug usage is an entrance into a universe of failure, for with it is impossible to conquer any problems.
(im having trouble forming a good thesis i dont know how to make it argumentative please give advice)

Thesis statement for what?

Thesis for a 4-page paper would be vastly different from a thesis for a dissertation. Is it a thesis for an analytical paper or for a book review?* Again, these would be vastly different.

If it's for an analytical paper, it's not good. It has to show what your argument is going to be, not what Dick suggests.

*inasmuch as a book review can be said to have a thesis statement... Not all papers require a thesis statement.

If it's an entrance into a world of failure, how is it a solution, even a temporary one- it may feel like a solution, but isn't that illusory?
