Hi!

Could please help me with the following?

If you are a head of the company, and you are going to send greeting card to the head of the othe company, what salutation you will write in greeting card:

  1. Dear Mr. Doe
  2. Dear Mr. John Doe
  3. Dear John

Thanks in advance!
On a business greeting card you wouldn't use #2. Both 1 and 3 are possible depending on the type of relationship you have with the other person. In the US we don't always use this type of salutation (i.e. Dear... ) on greeting cards. It is more common to write (To) Mr. Doe (and Staff),(Mr.) John Doe (and Staff) or just (To) John or Dear John.
