Plenty, I got toys for my kids to last the rest of the year.

My question is:

Why should the toys only last the rest of the year? Would they then be falling apart under the very eyes of a disappointed child? Were they designed to be that weak?

Please explain that to me. I don't understand it.

To be honest' I meant to say that.the kids' satisfaction with toys would last the rest of the year.

It means the speaker will not have to buy any more toys for their kids until the next year. The quantity purchased is enough to cover needs for the rest of the year.
