Hello.

Her smile held a hint of a tiny challenge.

I can't translate it correctly. I'm not sure what "smile held a hint" means and what "challenge" means here.

I think "smile held a hint" means "her smile got a secret", but it doesn't help here at all.
Can you completely rephrase this sentence?

Thanks.

I can venture a guess, but context is needed.

I don't have any context :). I found this sentence in my book and exercise sounds "translate the following phrases into your language".

This sentence is one of the most difficult for me.

OK. Let's say you meet a woman in a bar. You ask her to have a drink with you. She gives you a small smile. That would usually mean there is a challenge ahead.

Not a teacher!

Her smile subtly told you that she wouldn't give in easily.

Boris, you will have to translate it literally into your language.

I don't know what the sentence means in English, so your Russian readers can have the same problem.

She is flirting, but holding some cards close to her ... er, bosom.

I don't know why everyone is attributing a sexual meaning. The sentence does not make that clear at all. I have no idea what it means without more context.
