Hello everyone! Good morning!

My today's doubt is about prepositions... I've just seen in an English book the phrase "in a typical day", but I'm confused... isn't it supposed to be written with the time prepo "on" since we're talking about weekdays?

Thank you!!!

Can you quote the complete sentence?

Yes, of course!

"Students say how long they spend doing these things (working, sleeping, relaxing...) in a typical day." Is it Ok?

Thanks!!!

Yes.

In a typical day, I eat twelve bananas.
How many bananas do you eat in a typical day? Twelve.

Yes.

In a typical day, I eat twelve bananas.

Why's that? Can't we use "on"?
E.g.: I was very sad in/on that day. (?)

Thks!

Yes you can. Ems merely said that 'in' was OK in that sentence.
E.g.: I was very sad in/on that day. (?)![/QUOTE]That's a different sentence. 'In' is not natural there.

So, in my first sentence, it is possible to use them both, on and in... is this right?

Yes, that's what 5jj said.

Sorry for bothering you once again, but I really want to understand this... What if I say "In a perfect day, I'm always happy./ I was happy on that perfect day."?

Thanks a lot!
