[Idiom] to be engaged in

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am English learner and would like to know, if is it correct to use phrase 'engaged in', when sombody ask about occupation? For instance - 'I am engaged in distribution' in the meaning that it is my line.
What other options are exist to answer not very simple, as ‘I work as’…..
Could you suggest some?

Welcome to the forums, "engaged in" is ok but it sounds quite formal. Most people would say: 'I work in distribution'.

:up: ... or, informally, just 'I'm in distribution'. With some professions, but not distribution, you can use the noun: 'I'm an engineer/doctor/teacher...'
