My little brother tested me with these examination questions, but I'm not sure with my answers. Please help me fill in the blanks. THANKS A LOT!

An old man lived in a side street of a small town. Every day after supper, some children would play football in the street. The children were too _1_ for the old man to have a good rest.

I agree, it looks like homework and I think it can be a fun exercise for the poster to just put what they feel naturally fits. That is the fun part of learning English. Do not be afraid to experiement with words and their meanings.

The normal way to do this is for you to enter your best answers. Someone will comment on your answers. This seems to be some sort of homework, is it? The choices under II do not seem to fit - you may want to check the source material.

It's not homework, but the practice test for high school entrance. He wants to test my English level.:-?

My answer for the 1st part is as following(I'm really not sure wheather they are right):
1. when 2.nobody 3.just 4.rained 5.rain 6.return 7.balance
8.But 9. 10.makes

The 9th blank, I really don't know which word is proper.
