Dear experts in grammar,

could you please comment on the following two questions? I took an online grammar test and, much to my surprise, found out I made two mistakes.

I suggest we ... outside the stadium tomorrow at 8 30.
- meeting
- meet
- met
- will meet

I chose 'meet' , but the correct anwer is 'will meet'.:-? I've never seen Future Tenses used with 'suggest', and I couldn't find any examples either.

I’d rather we ... meet this evening, because I’m very tired.
  • wouldn’t
  • shouldn’t
  • hadn’t
  • didn’t
I chose 'didn't', but the correct anwer was 'wouldn't' :-| Whyyy???

Thank you in advance!

You are right; the test compiler is wrong.
Actually it is possible to have will with suggest, but with a different meaning:

I suggest (that) John will be there tomorrow.

This is a fairly formal utterance. The speaker is saying, possibly contradicting a previous speaker's claim that John will not be there, that his (the speaker's) belief is that John will be there.

I’d rather we ... meet this evening, because I’m very tired.
