I understand that AMN'T (which has a long recorded history) is only used in some dialects of Scotland and Ireland, even James Joyce used it in his Ulysses- chapter 15. It was never as popular as another contraction an't (most probably because people disliked putting an M and an N
Not that I anticipate using it or teaching it, mind you, but...just out of curiosity, how would you pronounce it? Would you insert a schwa between M and N?
