Elephant died. Is this correct sentence or any grammar mistake?

If you are speaking of a group or the species, then say;

P.S. Your titles uses the correct article.

When a man dies we can say, He passed away or died. as same as can we use some other words for the death of an elephant? In my language(malayalam) for elephant death we have so many usages. Man's death and Animal's death in my language different usage.

The same is in Russian. But this is not the case in English. They say "died" for both animals and people.

Edmond - it would have helped if you would have told us that your were asking about the verb, to die.

I thought you were asking about articles for the word "elephant.'

How would I have figured that out?!:roll:

Is there a disease or way of dying called "elephant death"?
