Here are some of my attempted questions, where I don't know if my answers are correct. If I anyone could help me with them, it would be really helpful. Not all need to be corrected at once. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
To be changed to passive voice : ( ' A ' DENOTES MY ANSWERS ) -
1. We saw you and him.
A. You and him were seen by us.
2. They asked me my name.
A. I was asked by them for my name.
3. I bought the baby a doll.
A. A doll was bought to the baby.
4. A thunderstorm often turns milk sour.
A. Milk is often turned sour by a thunderstorm.
5. You cannot pump the ocean dry.
A. The ocean cannot be pumped dry.
6. They saw the storm approaching.
A. The storm was seen by them approaching.
7. He keeps me waiting.
A. I am kept waiting by him.
8. They painted the house red.
A. The house was painted red by them.
9. He told me to leave the room.
A. I was told to leave the room by him.
10. He promised me a present.
A. I was promised a present by him.
11. I shall order the carriage.
A. The carriage shall be ordered by me.
12. The boy is climbing the cliff.
A. The cliff is being climbed up by the boy.
13. One may accomplish many things by a little effort.
A. Many things may be accomplished by a little effort.
14. I am watching you very carefully.
A. You are being watched by me very carefully.
To be changed into Active Voice :
1. The road was lined with people.
A. People lined up the road.
2. The trees were blown down by the wind.
A. The wind blew down the trees.
3. We shall be blamed by everyone.
A. Everyone shall blame us.
4. Alice was not much surprised at this.
A. This did not surprise Alice much.
5. He will be greatly surprised if he is chosen.
A. His selection will greatly surprise him. / If he is chosen, it will surprise him greatly.
Mixed ones ( To be changed to either active or passive ) :-
1. We elected Balu captain.
A. Balu was elected as the captain.
2. I saw him opening the box.
A. He was seen opening the box by me.
3. We must listen to his words.
A. He must be heard.
4. Shall I ever forget those happy days ?
