Do we have to use apostrophe+s with weeks, days, months etc when used in sentences like?
He will return home in a weeks(week's?) time.
Court's decision is expected in a months(month's?) time.
If anyone could please enlighten me.

The apostrophe (of possession) is used here, because the time period discussed belongs, to a week, a month etc.

"The court's decision is expected in the time of a month", if it helps you to think like that. (NB: you shouldn't actually say that, it's just something to help you).

Yes

Thank you. But I still didn't get, whether we use 's or just s.
He will return home in a weeks time.
Or
He will return home in a week's time.

Hi
Yes you need to write "He will return home in a week's time." It's an apostrophe S which we just write the apostrophe because the word is in the plural form and already has one s so you just put the apostrophe after the S.
He will return home in a weeks' time = He will return home one week later.
She 's going to the US in a months' time = She 's going to the US one month later.
Good luck!

That is not correct, moonlike. You need to write

'He will return home in a week's time.'

'She's going to the US in a month's time.'

Note also that there should be no space between she and 's.

Oh yeah! sorry! I goofed.Actually I meant she's going to the US in two weeks' time.Sorry! here, week is plural . Rover is right she's going to the US in a week's time.

Moonlike - please remember to make the example sentences stand out from the rest of a post by enclosing them in quotation marks, or differentiating them from the rest of the post in some other way (different colour or italics can both work).

He is going in a week's time.
She is coming back in a month's time.
He is going on holiday in three weeks' time.
They are starting work there in two months' time.
