Is it polite to say "that's all" after I answer a question of a test?

Because someone told me that it's impolite to say "that's all" at the end of conversation.

Sorry, I make a mistake. What I want to say is "That's all" not "let's all"

I can't think of why anyone would want to say 'let's all'. What do you intend it to mean?

I have never heard that phrase in my life. If you said it after you answer a question in a test or at the end of a conversation, I would say "Pardon?" or "Excuse me, what?!" or I would simply walk away very confused.

The only thing I can think that it sounds like is "That's all" but you wouldn't say that after answering a question in a test or at the end of a conversation either.

Let's all go out for a beer to celebrate finishing our exams? ;-)

Haha, that's interesting.

I doubt if any native speaker would say 'That's all' in the situations you have described.

You got me. Sorry to make that mistake. What I want to say is "That's all"
Thank you.

As ems already said, that would be an inppropriate (if not puzzling) thing to say at the end of an exam or the end of a conversation.

If you're looking for a nice way to end a conversation, you can say "Well, it was nice talking to you." The other person will say "You too" and then you go your separate ways. Other things you could say, depending on the circumstances include "It was was nice meeting you" or "It was good seeing you again" or "I hope we get to see each other again soon" or "I'm so glad we got a chance to compare notes" or "Thanks for sharing your thoughts" or... many things. But not "that's all."

Okay, I see. But can you tell me why? Impolite?
Thank you!

PS - You do not need to creat a separate post responding to each one of us, especially if you say the same thing each time.

I see. Thank you!
It's very nice of you to answer my questions.:-D

But I think it will be polite to do so. Or do I cause some trouble for you?
If so, I am sorry.

You can answer everyone in one post. For example, "Oh, I meant to say 'that's all' not 'let's all.' Thank you all for your responses."

Of you could just hit the "like" link in the post the person made

It's actually rather annoying to read the exact same thing in three or four posts as you quote the person and say the same thing to each. I keep thinking you must have a new thing to say or a follow-on question.

I agree.

The like button is plenty good enough for me.

"That's all" is just not what we say at the end of a conversation! There are many things you could say:

- Well, that's it. It's time for me to go now. See you soon. Bye.
- Right, I'm off. Bye.
- It's been lovely talking to you. Goodbye.
- Thanks for a great chat. Bye.

There are many others. The only occasion I can think of where "That's all" might work would be at the end of an informal talk (by talk, I mean a presentation). In a formal, proper presentation, you would finish by saying something like "That concludes my presentation on XXX. If there are any questions, I'll be happy to take them now". At the end of an informal talk, I suppose you could say "OK, that's all. Any questions?"

It just is. That's all!

(Do you see why that might be impolite and rude?)

...

Those look like different contexts to me. If, for example, you're in an oral exam and the examiner says 'Tell me a bit about yourself' it would be impolite to say 'I'm an examinee...[pause for 30 seconds] That's all'. You'd also probably fail. ;-)
