Personally, I carry it - suitcases with wheels are rather like umbrellas in their mixture of usefulness and public liability. But, for me, a person wouldn't 'tow' such a thing. When you tow something you are in a vehicle and the load is in a separate - often two-wheeled - container. A related adjectival phrase, 'with,,,in tow', can apply to pedestrians; 'She came round the corner with all her children in tow.'

'Pull' and 'drag' suggest to me extreme effort -'... even little Fred helped, manfully pulling/dragging the huge suitcase'.


I'd use the verb 'to wheel' for everyday use: 'He wheeled his luggage to the check-in desk.'

You could also lug it, which also implies a great effort is required.
