Could you please listen to this video lesson and help me with the missing words?

It's 1 minute 20 seconds from the beginning.

Lots of people live in flats. In the center of the city everybody lives in a flat.because there aren’t many houses. The flats .........??????? are relatively small.

Thanks in advance.)

I am sorry. This used to be a very helpful site with 25 English lessons including videos, but now Google warns against visiting it. I visited it anyway, but, of course you shouldn't take a risk. Hopefully they will improve it.

I didn't listen to it, but one word that fits that sentence is "themselves." Could that be it?

Thank you, Barb_D, I listened again and seem to have understood the missing part: "The flats I found are relatively small." I think I heard the words correctly, but now the grammatical side of this sentence seems a little strange to me - is it OK that she uses ARE instead of WERE?

I just went to the website in question and it's working - no warnings now. The recording is at the very bottom of the page (in case you will want to check if I understood the missing part correctly).

On the assumption that the flats still exist and are, presumably, still relatively small then the present tense is fine. It is true, of course, that the flats were relatively small when they were found and "were" would have been fine in the sentence. However, "are" is equally OK.
