Hello,

Is the word "seconds" used correctly in this context:

Svetlana: For quite a long time the supermarket allowed its customers to buy goods on hire purchase and on approval. As a result, the supermarket didn’t generate enough profit.
Sergei: Well, from my point of you, that’s very sensible of the management to launch this campaign. I only hope the supermarket isn’t going to sell foreign-made seconds to attract customers.
Svetlana: There is no way we can predict. Let me show you some real bargains.

Our book of idioms gives the following definition of "sell seconds"-sell goods which have a small defect or shop-soiled.

Thank you in advance.

"Seconds", in this context means "second quality", in other words, not perfect.

But to me, it doesn't seem that the dialog is a real one, involving natural speech by native speakers. It sounds like two continental professors whose second language is English. Intelligent, but not quite right.

"Point of view," not "point of you."
