When a government or important organisations put some important news or information in their website, what formal word can be used to mention the act of putting it?

I thought of updated in their website but it doesn't seem to be a apt word.

You can announce something on your website if it is something individual or one-off, such as the launch of a new product or a very exciting piece of news.

What if the government put an information?(For example: If a new officer has been appointed in a particular government department and the government puts that information in it's website, How can we say that?)

I'd call that an announcement.
