The police said to a suspect "You will get a lethal injection. You will get 3 hots and a cot just for stealing off your dead body."

What does the police mean?

Thanks!

Presumably police officers.

What's the context?

A cot is the slang term for your bed in your prison cell but I have no idea what the 3 hots
are.

Three hots are three hot meals (a day).

But I still dont get the story in metaphorical way.

Relation between lethal injections and 3 hot meals & bed in stealing off your dead body?

OK, I think I get it now. I can only assume that the person has committed more than one crime. The police officer is suggesting that he is likely to get the death penalty (lethal injection) for one of them, but the excerpt does not say what that offence was. He goes on to say that, even without the more serious unspecified offence, the person would have been sentenced to a prison/jail term (three hots and a cot) just for the offence of stealing from a corpse. I'm not quite sure why it says "for stealing off your dead body" though.
