Hello,

I'd like to add a bit of variety to standard replies to "How was your weekend' and wonder if the following adjectives collocate with 'weekend'. I'm afraid of uttering a phrase that won't be idiomatic.

I had a.....
- fabulous
- awesome
- action-packed
- mind-numbing
- unforgettable / memorable
- eventful

weekend. Could anyone have a look at them, please? The one that worries me most is 'action-packed'.

They are all OK.

How was the weekend?
How was the vacation?
How were the past days?
How was the holiday?
How were you with the weekend?
How the weekend with you was?

Please check the above-mentioned? Do they make sense?

I would put the first four as:

How was your weekend?
How was your vacation?
How have the past few days been?
How was your holiday?

I would not use the final two. I wouldn't know how to reply to "How were you with the weekend?", and "How the weekend with you was?" is simply not correct English.

It's the "above-mentioned" not "over-mentioned."
