I clearly remember to put my wallet in my pocket this morning

2 definitely makes sense when you are in the evening thinking back in the morning, but doesn't 1 also make sense if you are still in the morning? My grammar's answer is only 2, so I doubt 1 can also be an answer.

1 is incorrect, no matter when you say it.

An argument could be made for it without "clearly" if writing a story in the present tense:

I get up. I shower and get dressed. I remember to put my wallet in my back pocket this morning, unlike yesterday! I hop on the bus and 10 minutes later, I'm at work.

Is it because of "clearly" combined with "remember" as it indicates past actions? This morning doesn't seem to be related here as I can be in the morning, saying that. I don't clearly get it, sorry.

Remember + to do means that you remember that you have something to do in the future.

Remember +doing means that you remember that you did something in the past.

And you can't "clearly" remember to do something in the future. It's only clear that you remembered it after you remembered it!
