Please help me correct the following paragraph. Thanks!
In Chiayi, an elementary school female teacher wrote an op-ed to the United Daily News, exclaiming：We always give the child the best, but do not care that he has no concept of compassionate.
 
What's an "op-ed"?
 
An op-ed piece of writing is one that expresses someone's opinion and is printed on the page opposite the Editorials. However, I am not sure whether the use in this sentence is correct. According to my original meaning, the female teacher is just a reader who write a letter to the newspaper office to express her opinion about something.
