[STRIKE]w[/STRIKE]What is the difference between possessive adjectives and possessive pronouns ?
Unfortunately, people use these terms in different ways, so it is not possible to give a clear response.
In traditional British grammar,
my, your, his, her, its, our and
their were possessive
adjectives, and were used only before nouns:
My book is on the table.
Mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours and
theirs were possessive
pronouns, and stood alone - they were not used before nouns:
A: Where are the books? ...B: Mine is on the table.
