Hello all forum members!

This will make the shoes more comfortable to walk on and keep the legs (w)arm should the weather get cold.

The previous sentence reads as follows:

Whenever the woman decides to wear a skirt to go out, one thing that the person must never leave home without is a pair of nylon stockings.

From the context and the sentence in question, we can find out that having a pair of nylon stockings on hand will enable the woman to feel comfortable when walking on shoes. Why is it written "to walk on"? Don't we walk IN shoes?

Thanks to always having a pair of nylon stockings, it will be more comfortable for the woman to walk IN the shoes.

There is another question. In the same sentence, there seems to be a typo - arm instead of warm?

What do you think?

You are right. '...more comfortable to walk in' and 'warm' instead of 'arm'.

I am not a stickler for accuracy. I just try to broaden my knowledge of English by reading as much as possible. From time to time I want to make sure that I understand a portion of text right.
