Lightbulb What is the meaning of "meeskite"?

Hi guys. In a TV series called Web Therapy, I heard that a man said: my brother is meeskite, I don't even deal with him.
Then the girl who is taking to this guy said: Looks can't get you everywhere. you're the better looking of your brother.

Does "meeskite" mean "ugly and not good or something" ?

Does "Looks can't get you everywhere" mean you can not do everything just because you are handsome?

    Thank you in advance.

Re: What is the meaning of "meeskite"?

Could it have possibly been "a mosquito"? An annoying pest, but not that serious? (Unless, of course, it's carrying malaria.)
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

You mean he said "mosquito" to his brother, which means his brother is not a good man in business or something?

Re: What is the meaning of "meeskite"?

It is from Yiddish and is spelled Meiskeit (though pronounced Mees kite).

Meiskeit: (mees-kite) literally "ugliness." Unsually used as a noun to refer to an ugly, funny-looking, geeky, unattractive person. "Oi, did you see the meiskeit he's dating? A fashion model, she isn't!" "He's such a sweet baby, but oi! what a meiskeit!"
