[Grammar] Difference between 2 pairs of sentences

Hi !
I have come back ! How are you?
Please, could you tell me what is the difference between the following pairs of sentences?
1. It is important that this book should be written.
2. It is important that this book is being written.

In my opinion the first sentence is correct; it uses a subjunctive, but I simply don`t know if the second one is correct. It seems correct but I still don`t know why.

How am I? Well, since you ask, my back has been really bad recently. It's lumbago, you know. I got it from my dad. My dermatitis has been troublesome of late but the doc gave me some fairly effective cream to rub on it. I'm pleased to report that my latest prostate exam proved to be satisfactory, but at my age there's always going to be cause for concern in the waterworks department. I'll update you on a regular basis since you're interested.:-D

Thank you for your kind and quick reply. Have I made any mistake when I said: I have come back ! How are you?
Should I have written: I am back again? I don`t understand. I haven`t entered this forum since long, that is why I asked "How are you"
It`s no need to update your health state [ maybe the word is not so correct ] because I am not interested in it. I simply asked: How are you? Was it a joke or..?
Anyway, thank you again for the quick answer.

While you've been away, you seem to have forgotten that we don't put a space before a punctuation mark at the end of a sentence and that one single punctuation mark is enough.
