So Woody, what is "the rule"?

I know the rule of how to use "have" and "has", but what if I said "The teacher .......... class" or "Stanley ........... a dog"?
Should I put "have" or "has"? [strike]''><[/strike]
[strike]and[/strike] Can someone explain it to me more?

Please look at my amendments to your post, which are all in red. Remember to capitalise the word "I" at all times and to put the words/sentences you are querying in quotation marks so they stand out from the rest of the post.

As billmcd said, you said "I know the rule". So please tell us the rule and then tell us how you would apply it to your two sentences.

Thank you.
The rule is :
He, she , It for "Has"
I, You, We, They for ''Have''

Thank you.

I think you have the answer. Is the teacher and Stanly he, she, it, we, you, or they?

So we use ''Has'' .

So we use ''Has''.

Yes, that's right. So - if you knew the rule, why were you confused about those two sentences?

Someone taught me wrong way. So, I was confused.
