Dear Teachers

In the sentence "Sorry, the red mist tends to descend when I'm confronted with grammatical ignorami." What does "the red mist tends to descend" actually mean?

Please advise

Some people say that when they start to become very angry, it is as if a red mist (mist is like fog) comes down in front of their eyes. They are unable to see anything except their anger.
