Hello,

is the following sentence structurally sound? Older and hopefully wiser now,
when I look back on that extemporized and hair-brained moment, I don't know
which way to think.

Agreed. But I just can't restrain myself from pointing out that it is hare-brained, not hair-brained, and every native speaker of BrE ought to know that.
 
Gad. I can only hope they are American dictionaries. We are more easily excused because we call hares jackrabbits and don't necessarily know the word hare.

Could somebody tell me how to edit my profile. I can't seem to locate a button that would enable me to do this.

Click on your username in any of your posts and you will find a link to your profile,
 
Click the My Profile tab (top right, next to Settings and Log Out. Then click the About Me tab. Then click the pencil icon next to your native language and any other incorrect sections, enter the correct information and then Save.
