Hi, teachers,

I've checked previous questions and answers regarding the difference between use and usage. However, I couldn't find what I wanted to know.

Are the following sentences natural and grammatically correct?

1. Do I have to pay for the parking lot?(This is the sentence I have normally used).
2. Do I have to pay for using the parking lot? (I sometimes use this one)

3. Do I have to pay for the use of the parking lot? (I think it's OK)
4. Do I have to pay for the usage of the parking lot? (I never use this one, but I think it might work.)

Above all, I would like to know if I could use no.3 and 4 in a specific situation, and if there is any difference in meaning between the two.

Thanks in advance.

They are all grammatically correct. I don't find #4 very natural, though.

In the UK I'd say

1. Do I have to pay to park/for parking?

2. Do I have to pay to use the car park?

3 and 4 are too wordy for me. I wouldn't use any version of them.

Please note that a better title would have been Do I have to pay for the parking lot?.
