Before (doing something) it would be advisable/recommended to (doing something)

Anyone could tell me which would be the correct or more natural combination: advisable or recommended. (Perhaps the two of them are right, but with different although very similar meaning).

Do I think it is better to use "advisable" rather than "recommended" (or the other way around)? That depends on what you want to say.
