I am asked to find the odd one out ....

taken went seen forgotten ---- i put went as all rest are in past partciple

bright early good and some .----- some quantifier

never but unless because-- never conjuctions

luggage cup cutlery furniture -- cutlery nouns '

rough tough enough cough--- enough its not an adjective


I was asked to reevaluate my answer but i am soo confused can some one please shed some light ??


what my evaluator said :

[FONT=comic sans ms, sans-serif]Follow this structure for the other examples and think about whether the other words in 'c' are in fact all prepositions and whether 'cough' in 'd' is an adjective.[/FONT]

luggage cup cutlery furniture -- cutlery nouns '(Three of them are nouns that have no singular form.)

rough tough enough cough--- enough it's not an adjective (No, it's not enough.)

'a' - went is X and the others are past participles.
'b' - some is a quantifier and the others are X.
Follow this structure for the other examples and think about whether the other words in 'c' are in fact all prepositions and whether 'cough' in 'd' is an adjective.

Also, Engish pronunciation can be rather unpredictable. ;-)
